Book Review

This book has a heavy stress on winter gardening.  It's not quite as beautiful as the Vegetable Gardener's BIBLE, but the sketches are all excellent.  There is a emphasis on greenhouse and cold frame construction specifically for winter gardening.  There is a good section on building a homemade greenhouse and a review of greenhouse design from an international perspective.  A commentary on mobile greenhouses and how they can contribute to the health of your garden.  A straw bale composting system?  Some unique ideas!

Cold frames or simply plastic is used even inside the greenhouse and examples are given of the additional warmth that can be achieved.  A good vegetable growing, protection, and storage, reference section is provided.  I've read, used, and enjoyed this book.
